11:00 - 11:16 | Shiou-Han Wang | Physical and mathematical analysis for optimizing non-invasive monopolar radiofrequency strategies to enhance safety and effica Monopolar radiofrequency (MRF) therapy, a popular treatment in aesthetic medicine, depends on the importance of operator skill and a solid understanding of physics and facial anatomy. High-frequency ultrasound measurements of skin thickness may provide information on the thermal relaxation time, and we can use this information to combine with cooling systems and ensure safe and precise treatments. Besides, we can use the patient feedback scale for further support using multiple passes at the highest tolerable energy level to accumulate heat for optimal outcomes effectively. The efficacy of MRF resides in the heat accumulation following an exponential-like curve, which may be attributed to the heat transfer model and Arrhenius equations, making multiple-pass techniques essential. MRF therapy, enhanced by these methods, remains a cornerstone of aesthetic treatments, improving results and reinforcing its crucial role in the field. |
