14:40 - 14:55 | Christeen Youssef | The use of SVF and fractional laser for burn scar treatment Combined Fractional Laser Therapy and Nanofat (SVF) Injections for Burn Scar Treatment: A Case Series Evaluation

Background: Burn scars often lead to significant aesthetic and functional impairments, challenging to treat with conventional methods. Fractional laser therapy has been established as an effective treatment for improving the appearance and texture of scars. Recent advancements have introduced nanofat injections enriched with stromal vascular fraction (SVF) as a promising adjunctive modality. This study aims to demonstrate the improved efficacy of combining fractional laser therapy with nanofat (SVF) injections for burn scar management.
Objective: This case series aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of combining fractional laser therapy with nanofat (SVF) injections in improving the appearance and texture of burn scars.
Methods: We present a series of cases involving patients with various types and severities of burn scars. Each patient underwent a series of fractional laser treatments followed by nanofat injections. Outcomes were assessed using both subjective patient satisfaction scores and objective measures, including scar thickness, elasticity, and pigmentation. Photographic documentation was obtained at baseline, during treatment, and at follow-up visits to visually demonstrate the improvements.
Results: All patients demonstrated significant improvement in scar appearance, texture, and elasticity. Subjective satisfaction scores were high across all cases, with notable enhancements in skin pigmentation and scar thickness. Before-and-after photographs consistently showed marked reductions in scar visibility and improvement in skin quality. No major adverse effects were reported, underscoring the safety of the combined approach.
Conclusion: The combination of fractional laser therapy and nanofat (SVF) injections appears to be an effective and safe treatment option for burn scars, offering substantial aesthetic and functional benefits. Further studies with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods are warranted to confirm these findings and optimize treatment protocols.
Keywords: burn scars, fractional laser, nanofat injections, stromal vascular fraction, scar treatment, aesthetic improvement. |
14:55 - 15:10 | Grace Waworuntu | Biostimulator injection on tummy tuck scar Abdominoplasty, more commonly known as a “tummy tuck,” is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures that can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have experienced significant weight loss or have gone through childbirth. It involves the removal of excess fat and skin while also tightening the underlying abdominal muscles. The excess skin is transversely excised, leading to one long horizontal scar, which might, in some cases, be displaced, asymmetric, or nonaesthetic. Recently, a novel approach involving injection of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) has been introduced in the literature, showing lifting properties, improving dermal thickness and skin texture, and inducing neocollagenesis. The combination of a diluted CaHA injection followed by pulse dye laser in atrophic tummy tuck scars in separate treatment showing significant improvement in skin texture, reduction of vascular lesion, and restoration of tissue elasticity, resulting in high patient satisfaction. No side effect seen 6 month after the treatment. As regenerative aesthetics is relatively new, and various products are not yet intricately differentiated. Further investigation and comparing differences between injectable regenerative adjuvants is emerging as a common and efficacious practice. |
