Andomen contouring with a combination of FMS and non contact radio-frequency

Background:
Non-invasive body contouring techniques have become increasingly popular for reducing fat and improving muscle tone without surgery. Functional Myostimulation (FMS) uses electrical impulses to induce muscle contractions, while non-contact radiofrequency (RF) generates heat to target fat reduction and promote skin tightening. This study explores the combined effects of FMS and RF for abdominal contouring.
Objective:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of 16 FMS sessions and 12 non-contact RF sessions over 12 weeks in reducing abdominal circumference.
Methods:
Eighteen patients (aged 30–55 years, BMI 25–34 kg/m²) received twice-weekly FMS sessions for the first month, followed by once-weekly sessions for the next two months, totalling 16 FMS sessions. In parallel, they underwent weekly non-contact RF treatments for 12 sessions. Abdominal circumference was measured at baseline, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks. Paired t-tests were used to analyze circumference reductions. Patient satisfaction and adverse events were also recorded.
Results:
By the end of the study, the mean reduction in abdominal circumference was 5.7 cm, with a range of 3.5 to 8.2 cm (p<0.05). The average percentage reduction in abdominal size was 6.4%. Patients with higher baseline circumferences demonstrated greater reductions. No significant adverse effects were reported, and 93% of patients expressed satisfaction with the treatment.
Conclusion:
The combination of FMS and non-contact RF is an effective, non-invasive method for abdominal contouring, offering significant circumference reductions and high patient satisfaction with minimal risk of side effects.

Novel approaches to body hyperpigmentation management and experience in south east asian skin

Body hyperpigmentation, a prevalent concern in South East Asian populations, presents unique challenges due to the increased risk of mismanagement and side effects in darker skin types. This presentation moves beyond traditional approaches like topical hydroquinone and chemical peels, which often have limitations in this context, to explore emerging therapeutic strategies supported by recent research and clinical experience.

Novel topical agents such as tranexamic acid, cysteamine, and arbutin will be discussed, emphasizing their efficacy and safety profiles in reducing body hyperpigmentation in Asian skin. Advanced laser technologies, including combination of long pulse and QS Nd:Yag Laser, picosecond, diode laser, and fractional lasers, will be highlighted, focusing on their targeted action and ability to minimize the risk of PIH. We will also discuss the emerging trends of sytemic and locally injectables brightening agents in some populations.

The presentation will also explore the synergistic potential of combination therapies, utilizing these topical agents alongside lasers or peels for enhanced efficacy. The impact of lifestyle factors, such as rigorous sun protection and tailored skincare routines. This presentation aims to provide dermatologists with practical, evidence-based recommendations for personalized treatment plans, minimizing complications, and achieving optimal outcomes in managing body hyperpigmentation in South East Asian patients, ultimately improving their quality of life.
