The endolaser procedure utilizing 1470-nm diode fiber laser: A novel non-surgical technique for skin tightening and fat melting

Facial aging is a combination of numerous anatomic changes, including fat accumulation in several fat pads, atrophy in others, and skin thinning due to decreased collagen and elasticity. Recently, non-invasive and minimally invasive treatment for facial aging has received more attention. The endolaser is a minimally invasive procedure using a 1470-nm diode fiber laser to treat skin laxity and fat accumulation. The technique aims to target the tissues from deeper layers using an optical fiber as thin as a human hair inserted under the skin in the subdermal and subcutaneous layers.

Facial contouring with non-invasive approaches

To achieve effective facial contouring, a multi-aspected approach is critical. We applied a multi-faceted approach to facial contouring, hypothesizing that volume reduction, skin tightening, and color correction are essential, especially in Asian patients, where uneven skin tone can impact results. Our clinical study combined sequential monopolar and bipolar pulsed radiofrequency (SMBPRF) for volume reduction, a high-intensity, high-frequency parallel ultrasound beam for skin tightening, and a 755nm picosecond Alexandrite laser for color correction. Our findings suggest that a combined approach is critical for maximizing clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Achieving V-shape lower face with combinational minimally invasive treatment approach

The term “V-Shape” describes a sharp, well-defined lower face resembling the letter “V”, a characteristic linked to youthfulness and popular in Asian culture. In contrast, a double chin, resulting from excess fullness in the submental area, combined with jawline fat buildup and/or jowl ptosis, can obscure a distinct jawline and create an aged appearance. Effectively addressing these concerns requires a non-surgical, minimally invasive multimodal approach, customized to specific indications.

Aging in this region involves changes from the bone to the skin layer. In the era of aesthetic enhancements, non-surgical and minimally invasive modalities (e.g., filler, thread lift, laser-assisted liposuction, and other energy-based devices) are available to help physicians rejuvenate the lower face by targeting specific anatomical areas.

Implemented within a designated timeframe and under a thoughtful treatment plan, this approach aims to deliver results that align with expectations. Emphasizing proportionality and ensuring long-lasting effects, the treatment is also tailored to meet the unique characteristics of each patient’s face.

Keywords: lower face, rejuvenation, v-shape, double chin, jowl, combination treatment, minimally invasive, laser, laser-assisted liposuction, filler, thread lift, microfocused ultrasound with visualization, radiofrequency, microneedling, energy-based devices
