| 16:56 - 17:12 | Ardhiah Iswanda | Melasma treatment and skin quality restoration: Cutting-edge multimodal approaches for the Indonesian demographic Melasma is a skin condition characterized by hyperpigmentation that poses a significant emotional burden, including effects on self-esteem and social interaction. Melasma is commonly found in populations with darker skin tones, such as the Indonesian demographic, which primarily falls under Fitzpatrick skin types IV-V. Dermatologists can play a key role in addressing both the physical and emotional burdens of melasma from a patient-centered perspective. The innovative multimodal treatment approaches are tailored for these skin types, emphasizing their unique needs and susceptibilities. Topical treatments, laser therapies, chemical peels, microneedling, and RF-based treatments are some of the therapy options for melasma. Integrating advanced treatments for melasma, such as Poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) and exosome therapy, offers promising approaches for skin regeneration and pigmentation reduction. A primary focus is placed on an in-silico study investigating the role of PDLLA and exosomes in treating melasma. In-silico studies help predict how these emerging therapies will interact with melanin-producing cells and collagen in the skin. These therapies offer promising approaches for skin quality restoration, particularly visible reduction in pigmentation, improved skin texture and firmness, and enhancement of overall skin quality. The integration of these cutting-edge technologies in a multimodal treatment regimen demonstrates a synergistic effect that improves holistically both cosmetic appearance and quality of life. |

It works by creating micro-injuries and delivering energy to the deeper dermis, promoting collagen remodeling and improving skin texture. This combination enhances the absorption of topical treatments, reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and provides effective treatment with minimal downtime. RF microneedling can be combined with other modalities like chemical peels or low-fluence lasers for enhanced results. It offers a safe alternative, especially for darker skin types in asian people. |
| 17:28 - 17:44 | Ji Ye Kim | Efficacy of Ionization adjusted PN filler in minimizing Injection pain and maintaining effectiveness : A clinical trial Polynucleotide (PN) has shown promising applications in aging skin rejuvenation. However, its use in patients sensitive to pain poses challenges. To address this, we explored the efficacy of ionization adjusted PN fillers in reducing procedural pain while maintaining effectiveness in periorbital wrinkle improvement compared to conventional PN fillers.<br/><br/><br/>A clinical trial involving total 60 procedured in 15 patients was conducted to compare the pain intensity of ionization adjusted PN fillers (Vitran I, BR Pharm, Korea) with a conventional PN fillers with single blind, randomization. Pain intensity was assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and post-procedural erythema, bruising, induration was observed. Wrinkle improvement was observed using Antera 3D and Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS). Follow-up observations were conducted for 12 weeks post-final injection.<br/><br/>Analysis of VAS scores for 60 procedures revealed significantly lower pain scores with ionization adjusted PN fillers compared to the conventional PN fillers (mean VAS score: 3.39 ± 1.81 vs. 5.04 ± 2.19, p < 0.005). Post-procedural bruising and induration were less frequent with ionization adjusted PN fillers, while bruising was more common. However, the duration of bruising and induration did not significantly differ between groups.<br/><br/>The ionization adjusted PN fillers demonstrated significant pain reduction during procedures, along with a lower frequency of bruising and induration. Moreover, its efficacy in periorbital wrinkle improvement was comparable to conventional PN fillers. This suggests that ionization adjusted PN fillers could be a viable option for minimizing procedural pain while maintaining treatment effectiveness. |
