11:00 - 11:16 | Xiaolei Qin | EBD therapy for acne scar patients in china Background: Acne affects over 90% of Chinese adolescents, with 30% developing severe scarring. The NMPA has approved various EBDs for acne scar treatment, including ablative CO2 lasers, non-ablative 1550/1540 nm lasers, radiofrequency microneedles, and fractional devices. Globally, picosecond and "cold" ablative lasers are also used.
Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of EBDs in treating acne scars in southern and northwest China.
Methods: Data from four DEYI SKIN clinics across China were analyzed to evaluate outcomes and adverse effects of EBD treatments on acne scars.
Results: Ablative CO2 lasers were identified as the most effective treatment for acne scars, considering cost, efficacy, adverse reactions, and patient acceptance.
Conclusion: Ablative CO2 lasers are the preferred treatment for acne scars in China due to their effectiveness and safety.
Keywords: Acne Scars, Ablative Fractional CO2 Laser, Non-Ablative Fractional Laser, Radiofrequency |
11:16 - 11:32 | Celina Y. Y. Chuang | Possible complications associated with acne scar treatmsn: from PIH to vascular occlusion Acne scar treatments can lead to several complications, including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, altered skin texture, exacerbation of existing scars due to a special type of acne scar, and poor wound healing. Particularly with injectables used for atrophic acne scars, there is a heightened risk of vascular occlusion, which can result in serious skin complications. It is essential for clinicians to be aware of these potential outcomes and manage patient expectations effectively to minimize risks and ensure satisfactory results in acne scar management. |

12:04 - 12:20 | Suparuj Lueangarun | Enhancing acne scar treatment using rose-derived stem cell exosomes: Synergistic benefits with picosecond laser, fractional RF Acne scars significantly affect individuals' physical and emotional well-being, presenting an ongoing challenge in dermatological aesthetics. This study explores the use of rose stem cell exosomes (RSCE) in combination with fractional picosecond laser (FPL), fractional radiofrequency microneedling (FRM), and thermomechanical ablative (TMA) devices to enhance acne scar treatment. The primary objective was to assess whether RSCE could reduce post-treatment downtime, minimize redness, and improve treatment efficacy. Patients underwent three consecutive sessions with FPL, FRM, or TMA devices, followed by RSCE application, with evaluations measuring downtime, redness, and scar reduction. Results showed that RSCE significantly improved outcomes, reducing downtime and redness while enhancing scar reduction, leading to greater patient satisfaction and improved aesthetic results. This study highlights the promising role of RSCE in advancing acne scar treatments by combining them with cutting-edge dermatological technologies. |
